Check out this post. This is funny. It is a post by Rick Seagal (of VC firm JL Albright) on his "The Post Money Value" blog. He is writing about a business plan he received where the guy who sent it forgot to clear all the changes to the document before sending. There are some pretty funny comments in there he probably wasn't meant to see.
Here is a snippet:
"Make tons of changes to your document, pass it to your 'advisors' for advising, get back their edits, make more changes, save and send the document to me without accepting all changes and stripping out all the notes and comments." Keep reading

Local Musicians re-enact "The Band - The Last Waltz" concert as a send off to West End Cultural Centre
I've just found out that some local Winnipeg musicians will be re-enacting a performance of "The Band - The Last Waltz" at the West End Cultural Centre on May 31. Tix go on sale on May 1. Can not find much in the way of details, other than that Dan Frechette will be one of the performers.
The Last Waltz was The Band's last concert performance in San Francisco in the late 70's. It was made into a movie which was directed by Martin Scorsese. The concert featured guest performances by Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchel and a bunch more artists of the day.
Looking forward to checking out this show.

URockHard - A three-car pileup between FBook, YTube and GHero
Like Facebook? Like Youtube? Like Guitar Hero? If you answered yes to all three, then you should probably check out URockHard, the latest in a seemingly limitless supply of "niche" social networks out that aims to connect gaming music fanatics.I checked out the site briefly. It appears not too have much content yet, but let's see where it goes. I can think of a few friends off the top of my head that would love to record video of themselves burning away a Friday night in the basement and then share it with fellow "musicians" out in cyberspace.
If you set up an account, let me know how its works out for you.

Inferno's Bistro
Went to Inferno's Bistro for dinner on Saturday night...I forgot how good it was. I would say this is my #1 Bang-4-Buck pic in Winnipeg. Inferno's is located in St. Boniface on Des Meurons, in between Marion and Goulet. I called Friday and managed to sneak in a reservation for 2 upstairs on Saturday. I like being upstairs because the tables downstairs used to be right in the middle of the entrance way. However, they have changed the main entrance to via the patio now,and so downstairs seating is way better than before.
In looking over the menu, they have added a lot since the last time I was there. Then when our server came around she had 8 entree specials to go over with us that were not on the menu, 6 of which were under $20 bucks. Two that stuck out were salmon and pickerel stuffed with crab for $17 and a rack of baby back ribs for $19. I had the latter, my date had the former. Both were awesome.
The wine list was extensive and reasonably priced as well. The one complaint was that the wine glasses they brought us were of the really small, dishwasher safe variety. They used to have nice sized glasses there, but that appears to have changed. Considering the price of wine, it is a bit annoying to have to drink it out of really small glasses. Takes away from the experience in my opinion.
Overall though, dinner was great food and great value. I look forward to hitting up the patio there this summer.

Throw me a freaking bone.
So, I am going out for dinner tonight and am trying to find a "central" place to meet a few people for drinks after. Nothing out of the ordinary, maybe a lounge with good music (preferably live, but not a necessity) that is not part of a nation-wide big box chain and does not have a name that starts with "Pony".
In any other capital city in this country, you would not think this would be a problem. However, things are different here in Winnipeg. The fact of the matter is that we are WAY under-served when it comes to places like this. Sure, there is 1 Earls, Tavern or Pony Coral for every 3 people in this city, but is that all we get? There are a couple good places on Corydon and Osborne (I like the new Academy Food and Drinks,, but it is closed to public tonight), but we need more variety. What about St. Boniface? Provencher is an ideal place for a good lounge, but nothing (anyone from St B. listening?). And don't get me started on downtown. Off the top of my head, I could name 6 good bars with live music that were around in the 90's. I can now think of one with a two-hour line-up that you will probably get shot while waiting in.
Seriously......
